1. Activity:  Making audio from audacity

2. Aim: To make students’ involve how to make podcast

3. Student Context: EFL                   

4. Level of students: 1^st year students, Souphanouvong University (Pre- intermediate)

5. Age: 18+

6. Student’s Background: Students have never experienced how to make audacity and learn  English before from audacity. This is the first time for them.

7. Lesson Unit 1: making Podcast

8. Goals: Students will be able to learn some words and improve their speaking in pronunciation class.

9. Language focus: vocabulary and pronunciation.

10. Time:         120 minutes

11. Tool: Audacity

12. Procedure:

1) Warm-up activity:  The lesson begins by letting students have brainstorming about audio, mp3, music and films in English that they have listened before. Which one they like?

2)    Guide students to audacity: A teacher guides students to use and make audacity to make a podcast.

13. The task: 

-          Students are provided the given individual work

-          Students record their voice any tracks they want until they get the best one in 20 minutes.

-          Students can cut and add some parts from their record.

-          Students can edit their recorded voice to make it faster or slower if they want.

-          Students can add MP3 music to their record.

-          Students can choose to mute the voice track or to mute the music track or can keep both voice and music tracks at the same time.

-          Students save the podcast that they make with their name.

-          Students discuss and ask question about podcast.

My name is Vangvichit Kittikhoun, from Laos. I am a lecture of English at Soupanouvong University, located in Luangprabang the north of Laos.

Today is the third week of my training in beautiful tourist attractions, Hawaii, USA. Now I join the ICT class with Dr. Matar.

I am very happy to join this program with my friendly colleagues from nine countries in ASEAN.
